Weekend Football

I had loads of work to do for college over the weekend only just
managing to sneak out for a quick jog of around three miles.

We had to travel to Preston for our footie league game against
Penwortham Girls U17. Ten minutes into the game I manage
to lift the ball past the goalie into the net only to have the ref
disallow it. The goalie kicked my foot and I still have the
swelling to prove it. A quick blast of freeze spray and I can
still run on it.

Half time, we are three nil down and my foot is killing me.
Our team suddenly decide to wake up and I manage to
score three goals. Only I get kicked on the other foot, not
my day really. The final whistle goes and we are level at
3-3.

Arrive home and my feet go straight into an ice bath, I
have got no chance of training on Monday. Athletics
will training will just have to wait until Wednesday.

I have Limped to college for the past two days and I
feel a bit sorry for myself. My college sports coach
as just given me some great news that puts a smile on
my face. I have been selected to play in the center of
midfield for the North West Counties side. My dad
says I will have to choose between football and athletics
one day. It's going to be a difficult choice because I love
both sports.

Yours in sport

Emma
